Di Tanno Associati announces the appointment as Partner of Carlomaria Setti della Volta, who joins the Milan office

Milan, 5 May 2025 – Di Tanno Associati announces the appointment as Partner of Carlomaria Setti della Volta, who joins the Milan office, thus further strengthening its team of professionals specialized in national and international tax and legal advisory.
A tax lawyer formerly with Chiomenti, with a consolidated experience in European and international taxation both for companies and individuals, Carlomaria Setti della Volta regularly assists Italian companies and multinational groups in cross-border transactions, as well as individuals in the planning and handling of their interests. He also provides support during tax audits, settlement procedures, and tax litigation before the competent Tax Courts.
He has developed significant expertise in private equity, Double Tax Treaties (including partnerships and transparent entities), CFC rules, beneficial ownership, financing structures, and hybrid mismatches, with a particular focus on EU tax law. He also boasts significant experience in the tax aspects of insolvency procedures and in refund claims for withholding taxes on dividends received by foreign investment funds, applied in contrast with EU law.
Author and co-author of several publications on tax matters and a regular speaker at tax conferences, Carlomaria graduated with honors in Law from the Catholic University of Milan and obtained a Master of Arts in Taxation from the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS) at the University of London. He also took part to an AFS exchange program in Oregon (USA).
